AI Token Saver is a browser extension that optimizes prompt text before submission on supported AI websites.

Data collection and processing

• Prompt optimization is performed locally in the browser.
• We do not collect or store prompt content on our servers.
• We do not sell user data.
• We do not run third-party analytics on prompt text.

Local storage usage

The extension uses chrome.storage.local to store settings and local metrics, such as:

• compression level preference
• auto-compress preference
• local aggregate token savings metrics
• local extension metadata (version migration info)

Permissions rationale

• Host permissions: needed to detect and update prompt input fields on supported websites.
• Storage: needed to persist user settings and local metrics.
• Tabs: needed to identify the active tab for popup actions.

Remote code and third-party execution

AI Token Saver does not execute remote code. All executable scripts are packaged with the extension.
